Brother ‘ran over sister in selfie clash’

- BY LOUIE SMITH

A MAN tried to murder his sister with his car in a row over a selfie, a court heard.

Carmelo Pappalardo, 57, had fallen out with Anna Sciara, 54, over the care of their father Salvatore.

Ms Sciara told the jury when she took a selfie with her dad at his home and wanted to put a print on the wall Pappalardo grabbed her by the throat.

She left then heard tyres screech and said: “I looked and we locked eyes, the car came at me.”

Anna, 54 suffered multiple pelvis fractures in Hoddesdon, Herts.

Pappalardo, of Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex, denies attempted murder, GBH, battery and trying to pervert justice by throwing his car keys away.

The trial at St Albans crown court continues.
