Man woke in appendix op

A MAN woke up during appendix surgery after the anaesthetic wore off.

Fenn Settle could not move and urinated on the table to alert medics.

The 25-year-old said: “I thought I was going to die.”

Mr Settle, of Bradford, West Yorks, said a nurse at Huddersfield Royal had put his weight down wrong in March 2016 due to a “language barrier”.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust apologised and gave an out-of-court settlement.
