THEY’LL ALL DREAD DRAWING RED

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

LIVERPOOL will be dreaded in tomorrow’s Champions League draw because of their “devastating” form, claims Reds legend John Aldridge.

Aldo says the European powerhouses will not want to be paired with Liverpool in the quarter-finals after Jurgen Klopp’s side banged in 28 goals in their eight games so far. The competition’s top scorers hit seven against Maribor and Spartak Moscow before trouncing Porto 5-0 away.

Aldridge (right) said: “On our day we can be devastating. People said Maribor were a poor team but we’re the only team who beat them away and it was 7-0.

“Moscow, they said it was easy when we beat them 7-0 but no one else beat them by that scoreline. Porto, what a performance that was! It wasn’t because those teams are poor, it was because we hit the heights going forward. “If we hit the heights against teams like Madrid, Barcelona and City, teams who open up, we can beat them. No team will want to play us.” The Reds are through to the last eight for the first time since 2009 and striker Sadio Mane said: “There are almost only top clubs left in the race.

“We are all aware that if you want to become a champion you must be champions. We’ve got the quality to beat every team in the world.

“Why should Liverpool not be on top in 2018? I am convinced we can do it.”
