‘SANCHEZ MUST WISH HE JOINED CITY’
PAUL INCE laid into Manchester United over his former club’s shock Champions League exit to Sevilla.
He accused the players of letting down the club in the abject 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, blasted Paul Pogba for “sulking” and claimed Alexis Sanchez probably wished he had joined Manchester City. “The entire team need to take a long look at themselves after that performance, as well as the fans and manager,” said Ince (right). “They thought they could suddenly show up when Sevilla scored, but they didn’t. There’s not one leader, not one player who can get a grip of the game, organise players and make a difference. Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, David De Gea and Alexis Sanchez should be able to stand up when the team’s in trouble and change the game. None were capable. “I’d bet Sanchez wished he’d waited until the end of the season and gone to another team. You could see him fitting in at Manchester City better.
“I’d describe Pogba’s performance in one word as ‘sulky’ – he looked totally disinterested. The fans were just as bad. There was absolutely no atmosphere.”
