GARCIA JUST LOVES HIS BLOOMING AZALEA

MASTERS champion Sergio Garcia has named his new baby daughter Azalea after the flowers which bloom around Augusta National.

The Spaniard gave the traditional pre-tournament teleconference this week from a hospital in Austin, Texas, after his wife Angela went into labour.

And today the Ryder Cup star tweeted a picture of his baby (far right). “Beautiful Azalea Adele Garcia was born on March 14 at 1:54am. So proud and impressed with my wife @TheAngelaAkins and the way she handled the pregnancy and delivery! Love you both so much.”

Azalea is also the name of the par-five 13th hole at Augusta National where Garcia took a huge step to winning his first Major title.

Trailing by two shots, the Spaniard drove into the trees and needed a penalty drop before scrambling for a par while leader Justin Rose three-putted for a par. Garcia eagled the 15th hole before going on to win a playoff.

All week at Augusta, his then-fiancee Angela (with Garcia, left) had pinned notes on the bathroom mirror and on the final day she wrote: “Don’t forget to be amazing.”

Speaking before the birth, he said: “I look forward to everything, to spending it with my wife, Angela, to trying to raise our daughter the best way.”
