‘Jodie was my only child and my best friend’

-

JODIE’S mum revealed how she’s lost the will to live since losing her daughter.

Nicole Dinsdale, 49, also from Skipton, said: “Jodie was my world, she was my only child. She was more than just my daughter, she was my best friend.

“Some days, I feel like I just don’t want to live any more without her.

“At that moment, I feel like it is only little Megan who keeps me going... From Jodie being very little, it was just the two of us. I miss spending time with her...

“Jodie was so funny, she was always there if I needed her...

“I know Megan knows that something bad has happened to her mummy because Malcolm chose to tell her the truth. I know she has nightmares and she thinks he is going to hurt her and hurt me. I have to reassure her that she is safe and he can’t hurt us. I know Megan misses her mummy and now she has to grow up without her. She was such a good mum.”

When talking about Hord, who she dated for 15 months until he broke her arm, she added: “I don’t know what to say in relation to him. He knew me and Jodie were close. He knew I felt like I was in the middle sometimes. I wish I had never ever met him. I keep thinking he’s got friends out and about who might harm Megan...

“It’s just so hard to believe what he has done. It’s just so horrible and evil. It is beyond words. I feel like I will never trust anyone again.”

Nicole said she feels like a “little hermit”, never going out, adding: “It’s difficult for me to see how the future lies or how to go on from this.”
