This Morning all at sea as hosts stranded on boat

-

ITV’S This Morning show was plunged into chaos when presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were left stranded on the River Thames.

They were heading to shore in central London after doing interviews on HMS Belfast to mark the warship’s 80th anniversary when their boat ran out of fuel. Alison Hammond stepped in to cover for them back in the studio.

Willoughby asked: “Have we got a leak?” Then Schofield was drenched by a wave, before adding: “Seriously, Alison might have to do the rest of the show.” The pair were eventually saved as viewers took to social media to say yesterday’s incident was “hilarious”. Hammond thanked viewers for their support, writing on Twitter: “I was so nervous stepping in last minute for @hollywills and @Schof on @thismorning today.”
