Tour newbie Livingstone hit a free-flowing 88 in warm-up action as England lost 14 wickets for 319 to a pink ball that made batting less than straightforward.
Batting coach Graham Thorpe said: “Liam Livingstone played very well. He was busy at the crease, had intent, and showed the coaches what he’s capable of.
“For a few of the guys it’s a reminder, a bit of a kick up the backside, that you’ve got to get up to speed pretty quickly.
“The first two sessions were indifferent for us.
“I think it’s about getting the guys up to speed and making them aware they have a Test match in seven days’ time. That’s the challenge of a short tour.”
