BLUES PLOT RAM RAID

- BY DARREN LEWIS

CHELSEA are monitoring Aaron Ramsey’s situation at Arsenal.

The 27-year-old Wales midfielder (right) will have just a year left on his contract at the Emirates this summer and has yet to commit himself to a new deal.

The Blues are set once again to overhaul their squad in the summer. It follows a poor title defence and comes with their top-four place in the balance.

There is uncertainty over the futures of a number of Chelsea’s current players beyond this season. Cesc Fabregas will have just a year left in the summer. Tiemoue Bakayoko, signed for £40million from Monaco, has been a disappointment, and David Luiz has fallen out with Antonio Conte.

Chelsea’s interest in Ramsey comes with Blues legend Frank Lampard warning Arsenal must do whatever it takes to keep him.

He said: “I’m an admirer of Aaron’s and Arsenal must try to secure his long-term future.

“Once again they are in a position where one of their key players’ deals is running out.

“He is class and I feel there is another level for him to strive for.”
