SHATTERED LOVE (right) beat the boys in the JLT to spearhead a 209-1 treble for Gordon Elliott.
Having watched the mare and Jack Kennedy land the Grade 1 prize, the trainer said of the 18-year-old jockey: “He’s come here and nothing fazes him. It’s brilliant.”
But Elliott drew on experience rather than youth for the final two legs of the treble, completed by the Davy Russell-partnered Delta Work (Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle) and The Storyteller (Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate).
Matching his six-winner tally at last year’s meeting, Elliott added: “It’s unbelievable.”
