RUBY WALSH joked “I’ve never been happier” as he attended Cheltenham as a racegoer yesterday with his injured right leg in a cast.
The Cheltenham Festival’s most successful jockey, who returned from a broken leg only last Thursday, was forced out of the final two days of the fixture after suffering a stress fracture following his fall from Al Boum Photo.
“I tried to walk it off, but I couldn’t!” smiled the 38-year-old (above, being helped into an ambulance). “The cast could be off next week.”
Walsh hopes to return for the Punchestown Festival which begins on April 24.
