It’s like having your heart ripped every day MALCOLM WILLSHER HUSBAND OF JODIE

A “MONSTER” who carried out a “cold-blooded public execution” by stabbing an Aldi worker to death has been jailed for a minimum 30 years.

Neville Hord, 44, wanted to cause “maximum pain, horror, shock and trauma” when he attacked Jodie Willsher in front of horrified shoppers.

The plumber had collected an “armoury of lethal weapons” before “calmly” walking into the packed store four days before Christmas.

With a knife and a “back-up” axe, hidden in his jacket he spotted mum-ofone Jodie, the daughter of his ex-girlfriend. As she smiled at him, he took out his knife and repeatedly stabbed her head, neck, body and chest in a “chilling and utterly wicked” attack.

Hord blamed Jodie, 30, for the breakdown of his relationship with her mum Nicole Dinsdale and decided to murder her in “revenge”, a court was told.

For two weeks he monitored her movements after putting a tracker under her car which sent her location to his phone.

Prosecutor Peter Moulson told the court about the fateful day, saying: “CCTV recovered from the store shows Hord calmly walk down one of the aisles, intercepting Jodie as she walked towards him.

“Hord then stabbed Jodie multiple times to her head and body in a deter- mined and forceful attack. This was a cold-blooded public execution, perpetrated for the purpose of revenge.”

The court heard Jodie and Hord fell to the floor during the assault as she used her arms to try to defend herself.

Staff and customers in the store said they heard screaming and a voice shouting, ‘What are you doing?’.

They ran to help and eventually restrained Hord, using a belt and clingfilm to bind his arms and legs. Sadly, Jodie could not be saved and was

pronounced dead at the store. When police arrived, Hord told them: “It’s all her fault, she is to blame – her daughter.”

Police recovered the axe, which was purchased from Screwfix, and the two knives from Asda

In police interviews, he was asked why he had killed her and he told officers: “Jodie’s made things very difficult in mine and her mum’s relationship.” When asked about going to the store, he said: “It was to kill her. That was the, me aim, yeah, whether I’ve succeeded or not, I don’t know. I went in with a knife and I had an axe as a back-up, just in case.”

At Bradford crown court, judge Jonathan Durham Hall, jailed Hord for a minimum of 30 years.

The judge, who said he had to watch the disturbing attack on CCTV, told Hord: “You sentenced her in your mind to death. You are sadly, truly, terribly, rotten to the core.

“You deliberately chose a time and a place to execute, to kill, to murder.

“The act was calculated to cause... the maximum pain, horror, shock and trauma.”

Judge Hall pointed out “clever” Hord’s words speaking to doctors, when he said, “what I did was extreme. But I am not a monster”. Leaning forward, the judge told him: “But you are a monster, Mr Hord.

“You have an appalling history of domestic abuse and this is a case of the most chilling depravity. “The risk you pose is of the highest.” Hord, who admitted murder, showed no emotion throughout the hearing. The court heard when he stabbed Jodie in the store in Skipton, North Yorks, he had been on bail for assaulting her mother and was due in court the following day. Hord had split from Jodie’s mum a month before, after breaking her arm during a vicious assault.

The prosecutor said Nicole and Hord had been in a relationship for 15 months before he was arrested and charged with the assault.

Jodie’s husband Malcolm, 36, said he and their daughter Megan, four, had been left “scared and alone”.
