I could totally relate to the letter from the woman whose sister has cut herself off from her because she can’t face seeing her younger sibling having it all – marriage and kids (Dear Coleen, March 13).
I was that older sister, struggling with relationships and desperate for children, while my younger brother and sister were both happily married with their own families. It hurts like hell, but I hope your reader’s sister doesn’t spoil these most important relationships.
I ended up having a heart-toheart with my siblings and admitting how I felt and, from that moment, things changed. It became so much easier. They were more sensitive to my feelings and I stopped being so sensitive. Selina, via email
