Real troupers in harrowing play
It’s not often theatrical productions star real-life characters rather than actors.
Soldier On – a brilliant play about the damage wreaked by serving in war zones, played by a cast of ex-servicemen and women – is a real, harrowing portrayal of how hard it can be to slip back into family life.
Often they’re also suffering from PTSD, anger issues, flashbacks and missing the camaraderie of colleagues.
A company of soldiers mending wounds by telling their stories as a company of actors. It’s genius. Check it out. It’s at The Playground Theatre in London until March 31, before going out on tour.
