POCH: EVERY LOSER WINS

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has dismissed the idea that Spurs need the FA Cup to learn how to become winners.

The Londoners go to Swansea today bidding to shoot themselves to within two games of the Argentinian’s first trophy. But while some say Spurs will not have truly progressed until they win something, Poch (top right) disagrees.

Referring to his preferred target, the Premier League, he said: “It’s when you win a real tournament, when you need to play under pressure and perform at your best over 10 months, that’s when you start to learn about winning.

“The culture of winning is so important but to create that culture you need to work and take many steps to arrive there. When you win something it is like you have finished an amazing job. But the process is the most beautiful thing.”
