JOAO: I’VE GOT NO DOUBT OWL BE A PREM STAR

-

LUCAS JOAO is dreaming of a Premier League future with Sheffield Wednesday.

But, first, he needs to come up with the goals that will seal Championship survival for the Owls – and he’s making a pretty good fist of it at the moment.

The Portuguese hit-man (above), a £2.5million capture from Madeira-based minnows Nacional three years ago, has notched five times in seven outings, for seven goals altogether this season.

That return has helped Wednesday stay clear of the drop zone, just, and they face a Yorkshire derby at Leeds today in 18th place, eight points above safety.

But the Championship’s lower level is not Joao’s idea of fun, and the striker, 24, said: ”I came to England with a plan to get to the Premier League with Sheffield Wednesday, and I hope that will happen.

“We all have that objective, and I still believe we can get there.”
