Klopp: City didn’t want to face us... they will fear us

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

JURGEN KLOPP says Manchester City are in fear of facing Liverpool in the Champions League next month.

The Premier League sides have been drawn together in a quarter-final

tie which guarantees at least one English side in the last four. “They didn’t want to draw us,” Kop boss Klopp said. “Our record is not too bad against City. I saw (City director of football Txiki) Begiris tain’s face after the draw and it didn’t look like his Christmas and Easter had come in the one day.”

The first leg is at Anfield on 4 April with the return on 10 April.

In between, Liverpool face a Merseyside derby with Everton. The derby was originally scheduled for the Sunday but has been brought forward 24 hours for a noon kick-off – a decision which has left Klopp raging.
