999 lad, 5, is mum’s hero

A BOY of five has won a bravery award for calling 999 as his mum collapsed.

George Mart answered all questions from call handler Bryan Cox and looked after Leanne, 40, and two-year-old sister Rosha until help arrived.

Mum-of-four Leanne of Belper, Derbys, who has made a full recovery from her undisclosed illness, said: “I’m so proud of him.”

Bryan nominated George for the East Midlands Ambulance Laverick Bravery award.
