Moped gang use samurai sword in raid
A MOPED gang wielding a samurai sword and sledge hammers raided a leading London watch shop.
Flying Squad detectives are investigating after the armed raiders struck in front of terrified shoppers.
Weapons were left scattered on the pavement just after 2pm yesterday.
Passer-by James Whiting said one large sword “looked like something from a medieval museum”.
Police said: “Officers found evidence of a smashand-grab theft at the premises, with a number of display cabinets smashed open and a range of highvalue items stolen.”
The suspects made off on mopeds. No one was believed to be injured in the raid, at Watches of Switzerland on Regent Street, Central London.
