You should get more credit, Son
CLAUDE PUEL accused Chelsea of time-wasting after Leicester were dumped out of the FA Cup.
And Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel was booked after the final whistle for protesting to referee Craig
Pawson (above), who tagged just 60 additional seconds onto a game that went to extratime.
Leicester boss Puel (right) fumed: “They waste a lot of time and there was just one minute at the end. I think it was harsh.
“It would have been important to come back in the game.
“But they were trying to keep the result and to waste time because they have a lot of experience.”
Jamie Vardy’s second-half goal cancelled out Alvaro Morata’s 42nd-minute opener and with the score 1-1 at 90 minutes that meant playing another half hour with no replays for quarterfinals this season.
But Pedro came off the bench to win it for the visitors, the diminutive Spaniard heading in on 105 minutes after he beat Schmeichel to N’Golo Kante’s cross.
Puel added: “I’m frustrated because we played well. We conceded the first goal just before the break which was a shame because it was a good first half.
“We come back in the second half with quality and got back in the game with Jamie’s goal. “It’s hard for my squad who gave their best but we can’t blame Kasper. He’s been fantastic and made fantastic saves.
“I’m proud how they played with a fantastic attitude. We perhaps just need a bit more clinical edge.” KI SUNG YUENG hopes his friend Son Heung Min lifts the FA Cup to receive the credit he deserves.
The Swansea midfielder saw his side outclassed as Tottenham ran riot at the Liberty Stadium.
But he believes the story will have a happy ending if Son wins the FA Cup before they play together at this summer’s World Cup.
“We have played for the national team for a long time,” said Ki. “He is my big friend. Of course he is younger than me, but I still support him a lot.
“So, yes, if he can get a chance to win the FA Cup I hope he does.
“With Harry Kane now injured, Son plays as a striker. He plays everywhere – left-wing, No.10, striker, he plays in every offensive position.
“The thing is, he deserves more. Now he can get more in the newspapers as a big player.
“Kane scores more goals and you have Dele Alli from England. It’s not just because I am Asian, but he deserves more.”
