HEN HINTS AT A VOTE FOUR LUIS

-

MO SALAH’S stunning quadruple was the first four-goal salvo from a Liverpool player since Luis Suarez in December 2013.

That night against Norwich, Suarez (above) produced one of the most potent-ever displays of the striking arts with four ever more impressive finishes and also an assist for the fifth goal the Reds scored.

Inevitably, there will be comparisons between the two performances as Salah broke another record by becoming the club’s all-time highest scorer in a debut season.

Yet Jordan Henderson, the man best placed to judge, was understandably reluctant to compare.

Henderson (below) was the only survivor from that game against Norwich to play against Watford on Saturday and he joked: “Who’s the best? Don’t be asking me stuff like that! They are both fantastic players and you can’t compare them.

“They are different players. I know they score a lot of goals and both work hard off the ball, but it is very difficult to make that comparison. They are both so good in their own right.”

When pressed, Henderson did offer a hint on which of the fab four-goal displays he felt was better.

“I’ll have to watch the goals back!” he laughed. “I do remember Luis had a couple of nutmegs and that 40-yarder... so.

“Look, they are both just fantastic players.

“Luis moved on to Barcelona and is doing fantastically well. He is a fantastic player who I was privileged to play with. But Mo this season has been unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.

“He is doing it every week, without fail. He’s a great lad to have around the place.”
