‘Acid thugs tried to steal boxer’s VW’
TWO carjackers dragged brain-damaged boxing legend Michael Watson along the road and squirted ammonia in his pal’s face, a court heard.
Carer Lennard Ballack, screaming in agony, was pulled from Watson’s car.
But as the VW Golf drove off Mr Watson, 53, was dragged 150 metres.
Prosecutor Robert Evans told the jury he was seen “bobbing up and down on the road”.
The injured men spent two nights in hospital after the February 2017 attack.
Paul Samuels, 31, and Simon Luck, 28, of Manor Park, East London, deny conspiracy to rob and applying a corrosive fluid with intent.
The trial at Snaresbrook crown court continues.
