PROWLING TIGER FEELING READY TO POUNCE BACK AT AUGUSTA

-

TIGER WOODS claimed he is ready to win again after feeling “all the adrenaline in the world” in his last event before the Masters. The former world No.1 made a hat-trick of back-nine birdies to move one shot off the lead in an electric atmosphere before hooking his tee shot off at the 16th out of bounds. Woods (left) finished eight shots behind Rory McIlroy in fifth place in his fifth event back at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

But the 14-time Major champion, who has played 11 of his last 12 rounds at par or better, claimed he is ahead of schedule before seeking his first worldwide victory since 2013 at Augusta.

“The fans gave me all the adrenaline in the world,” he said. “I’m starting to piece it together, and each tournament’s gotten a little crisper and a little bit better.

“If I can play with no pain, and I can feel like I can make golf swings, I’ll figure it out.”

The new world No.105 is not qualified for this week’s World Golf Match Play and will instead head to Augusta for revision on a course he has not played since 2015.
