Win on peak’s amputee ban
A FORMER Gurkha with no legs has overturned a block on him trying to climb Mount Everest.
Hari Budha Magar, 38, appealed the Nepalese tourism office’s blanket ban on amputee attempts.
Hari, of Canterbury, Kent, was born near the mountain. He lost his legs in Afghanistan in 2010.
He said of his win at Nepal’s Supreme Court: “It’s fantastic. I’ve wanted to climb Everest since I was a child because I could see it from my home.”
