MP Kaufman items on sale

FORMER Labour minister Sir Gerald Kaufman’s possessions, including some unusual items, are being auctioned today.

The haul, likely to fetch £15,000, features a wooden cabinet showing film star John Wayne on horseback.

Satirical cartoons mocking Sir Gerald are also included in the sale in his home city of Manchester.

He was an MP from 1970 until he died last year at 86.

Andrew Perry, of Capes Dunn, which is selling the items, said: “He definitely had a very eclectic taste.”
