Weather hell for refugees

-

SEVERE weather is set to put the lives of thousands of Rohingya refugees at risk, MPs have been told.

Refugee camps in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar district will be at risk of tropical storms, cyclones and landslides, with heavy rain forecast to start soon.

An estimated 630,000 Rohingya Muslims fled Myanmar last year after the Burmese government’s campaign against them.

The Commons International Development Committee said the refugees faced “grave risks”.
