Been there, done Take That

Gary insists Robbie and Jason won’t rejoin band

GARY Barlow has disappointed fans by saying there is “zero chance” that Take That will re-form with the original line-up.

It comes after Robbie Williams said last year that he would rejoin the band “if it’s a five-piece”, which prompted speculation that he and Jason Orange could return.

But Gary, 47, yesterday said: “I wouldn’t put money on that. Don’t waste your money. I would say there’s no chance.”

The more optimistic Mark Owen, 46, said: “I wouldn’t say there’s no chance, but I’ve always said that.” The group currently consists of Gary, Mark and Howard Donald, 49.

Gary said of the full band’s reunion in 2010/11: “We feel like we did that whole five of us in 2011, so we’re all right for a bit. We’re not sitting around waiting for people to come back.”

The trio performed on the roof of the Theatre Royal Haymarket yesterday to mark the West End launch of their musical, The Band. It will run at the venue for six weeks from December 1. Take That are also planning a greatest hits album and a world tour later this year. And Gary said they would love to do another talent show after BBC’s Let It Shine, whose winners boyband Five to Five star in the musical. He said: “We spent a lot of time with those boys. It just feels like we’ve helped to give them a skill and a career that will last them years.”
