On-run perv gets 15 years

A CHILD rapist who spent 22 years on the run has been jailed for 15 years.

Alan Hollis attacked a girl from the age of four in Merseyside in the 70s and was held near his Leeds home in 1996.

He twice skipped bail and fled the country before court dates and was caught in Spain last March.

At Liverpool crown court Hollis, 70, admitted sexual abuse.

Ben Jones, prosecuting, said “efforts to return him to the jurisdiction have been somewhat farcical”.
