Cult leader Charles Manson’s body cremated after service
CULT leader and murderer Charles Manson has been cremated four months after he died, aged 83, in prison.
A private service was held on Saturday at a funeral home in Porterville, California. More than 20 people attended, including Manson’s grandson Jason Freeman and his wife Audrey.
Manson’s body was seen in an open casket before being cremated. Manson follower Sandra Good and former fiance Afton Burton were reportedly among the mourners. Manson gained infamy for the horrific 1969 killings of actress Sharon Tate and six other people in Los Angeles. The Manson Family, as the cult leader’s followers were called, slaughtered five of their victims at Tate’s Californian home. Manson ordered the killings to spark a race war and was jailed for life.
