CITY GIRLS EYE SWEDE WIN
CLAIRE EMSLIE believes home advantage can help Manchester City towards the Champions League semi-finals tonight.
City host Swedish side Linkoping in the first leg of their quarter-final, with winger Emslie confident they can go through as they look to better last year’s run to the semi-finals.
“We want to go one better than we did last year,” said Emslie. “It’s over two legs, so we’re hoping to get the best start. It’s nice to have a home game – it feels like we’ve played away 10 games in a row!”
Linkopings have dominated the Swedish league for several years, but are looking to make the semifinal stage for the first time.
Emslie added: “They’re tough opponents, but we’ve prepared as much as we can.”
