Genetic twin saved my life
A DAD of four who beat blood cancer has met the “genetic twin” stem cell donor who saved his life.
Peter Milburn, 56, of North Yorkshire, was paired with Aysha Lord in 2015 by charity DKMS.
Strict rules mean donors and patients rarely meet face-to-face, but he got to hug the 40-year-old nurse from North Wales after DKMS got them together.
“I thought the children would be without a dad,” said Peter. “I’m a new man.”
