Holiday for Joe

Last week I wrote about the bravery of Joe Barnes, the 14-year-old boy with cystic fibrosis denied NHS help because of the cost of Orkambi, the drug that could help him.

His mum Lorraine says they’ve since been overwhelmed by support from Mirror readers asking how they could help. The family haven’t been able to go on holiday for a long time as Joe’s lungs are not up to flying, so they decided to set up a crowdfunder for a trip to Center Parcs. “I just wanted to give him something to look forward to,” Lorraine says.
