BALE SET TO LEAVE REAL FOR UNITED IF ZZ STAYS
Coach decides future
GARETH BALE will quit Real Madrid and join Manchester United this summer if Zinedine Zidane remains in charge at the Bernabeu. That is the view of Bale’s Real team-mates who are convinced Wales’ newlycrowned record goalscorer has decided to return to the Premier League. He does not want to leave Spain but fears his relationship with Zidane could make it impossible for him to stay. United are ready to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old this summer. They
failed with an attempt to get him last year. It would be a £90million-plus deal and they would have to make him their highestpaid player to tempt him while Chelsea could also be interested.
Zidane, under mounting pressure, has publicly insisted there is no problem but Spanish paper Marca reported he is disappointed with Bale’s performances.
Wales boss Ryan Giggs said: “Gareth is special.”
