Arrest after vile abuse of siege hero
A FRENCH politician has been held over “apologising for terrorism” after saying the murder of a heroic gendarme meant “one less Emmanuel Macron voter”.
Stephane Poussier, 61, was arrested at home near Caen, Normandy, after his Twitter outburst.
Lt-Col Arnaud Beltrame, 44, died after swapping himself for a hostage during the siege by Islamic State fanatic Redouane Ladkdim, 27, near Carcassonne, South West France.
The devout christian has been hailed a hero.
But left-wing France Unbowed member Poussier said those paying tribute were “a***-lickers” who deserved to be shot.
He could face seven years. Ladkdim was shot dead by police after killing three at a shop in Trebes.
