‘Extinct’ hare seen on cam
A RABBIT feared extinct has been spotted for the first time since 1984.
A baby hispid hare was caught on camera in Chitwan National Park in Nepal, 93 miles south-west of capital Kathmandu.
Conservation officer Bed Khadka said: “The fact that the hispid hare was a baby indicates that there are also parents and both male and female.”
The species, also known as the Assam rabbit, is on the list of critically endangered small mammals.
