Dad of dead Brit accuses arms firms
THE father of a Briton who died fighting for the Kurds in Syria has accused British firms of supplying weapons that killed her.
Earlier this month Anna Campbell, 26, was caught in a Turkish airstrike.
Anna was in the Kurdish Women’s Protection Units, or YPJ, defending the enclave of Rojava, now under attack by the Turks.
Yesterday her composer dad Dirk, 67, said: “What the Turkish government is doing to the Kurds in northern Syria is nothing short of genocide.
“British manufacturers are supplying weapons being used on the Kurds.”
In an open letter to other female volunteers, Mr Campbell, of Lewes, East Sussex, said: “Anna’s death has drawn the world’s attention to you.”
