Local beero... Dai has brew named after him at pub

-

PINT-loving pensioner Dai Dobbs has a beer named after him at the pub he visits every day.

Dai, 76, was the first to try the new brew – Dobbsie’s Delight. “It’s a cracking pint,” he said.

The beer was created for him at the Wyndham Arms Hotel in Bridgend, South Wales. Dai has a daily pint at the Wether- spoons and helps raise cash for charity. Pub manager Lisa Driscoll said: “I have been here 15 years and I’ve seen him every day.

“He’s our little legend in the pub. He’s a truly amazing man and we all love him.”

Brecon Brewing, who made the beer, said: “We prepared something special for him. We haven’t produced this recipe for anyone else.” Dai was also presented with a plaque by the local council – for being “Our Favourite Bridgend Character”.

Town Mayor Stuart Baldwin said: “When I found out there was going to be a beer for Dai, the only thing to go well with that is a plaque.”
