Wenger: I’ll be judged by results
ARSENE WENGER will accept the “consequences” if Arsenal’s results are not good enough.
But the Gunners boss also made it clear he wants to be judged on his overall 22-year reign, which is another indication he has no intention of quitting this summer.
Wenger was talking to beIN Sports after Thomas Tuchel was heavily linked to his job in the German media, but Mirror Sport understands there has been no official contact with the former Borussia Dortmund manager. Arsenal, as revealed by Mirror Sport, will review Wenger’s position at the end of the season, but the Frenchman was defiant – even claiming to be a victim of “age discrimination”.
Wenger said: “When you age… you focus on doing well for your club and ignore all the rest.
“The older you get, the more it becomes age discrimination. I accept if the results are not good enough you have to take the consequences.
“But that perpetual thing how long you’ve been at a club, how old you are, I find that difficult to take. But all the rest I have to accept.”
