ADDICKS TURN A NEW PAGE..

-

LEWIS PAGE had his own day to remember with a stunning strike against Plymouth, but the Charlton full-back preferred to praise new caretaker manager Lee Bowyer.

Former Addicks star Bowyer took over from Karl Robinson on Thursday and masterminded the 2-0 win which lifted Charlton to within two points of the play-offs.

Page (scoring, left) said: “Bows has been fantastic with us during the last week or so in training. We were all a bit, not down, but it was a difficult situation for the club, and Bows has stepped up and given us a new lease of life.

“He told us to go out and enjoy it, get the win, and be men out there. We did, which was great.”

After Page had rocketed home an early 20-yard strike, Michal Zyro made it 2-0 after 16 minutes, a lead they never relinquished.

Argyle boss Derek Adams said: “Over the 90 minutes, we didn’t create enough chances, and Charlton deserved to win.”
