Crem cash is a joint effort
A CREMATORIUM raised £5,000 for charity by selling metal recovered from the deceased’s ashes.
Families’ consented to bone screws, hip and knee joints plus coffin handles being sent for recycling.
Some high-grade metals were used in new orthopaedic implants.
Cash made at the facility in Perth went to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, based at the city’s airport.
Cllr Angus Forbes said: “It is important families know recovered metals are being put to good use.”
