Cricket lover May wades in on Oz cheats
THERESA May has slammed Australia for cheating at cricket and admitted she was “shocked and bitterly disappointed”.
The cricket-loving PM waded in to the row after Aussie captain Steve Smith, 28, said his team tampered with the ball.
Cameron Bancroft was caught on TV using yellow sticky tape on the ball in a game against South Africa.
No10 said: “The PM is clear cheating has absolutely no place in cricket.”
Smith, who quit as captain of Indian Premier League side Rajasthan Royals, could lose out on £20million in future deals.
And Sevenoaks Vine CC in Kent, where Smith played as a teenager, took down his signed shirt.
