A FAMILY who buried what they thought was their beloved cat were thrilled when he turned up days later – worse for wear but still alive.

We don’t know what stories Willow could tell CAT ROBINSON OWNER OF BACK-FROM-DEAD CAT

When Willow the oriental tabby went missing during the recent snowstorms his owners feared the worst.

Jonny and Cat Robinson, both 35, put up posters and searched the neighbourhood for 10 days.

But when they found the remains of a cat with similar markings that had been run over many times on a busy A-road near their home, they thought it was their 18-month-old pet.

They scooped up the remains buried them in their garden where they and sons Josh, seven, and four-yearold Buddy said their heartbroken farewells. Cat said: “We did our grieving though we kept hoping Willow was going to come back.” Then just days later their hopes were realised when Willow returned, with a broken leg and severely underweight but ready to start the next of his nine lives. Cat said: “Jonny came in holding Willow, who was a bag of bones. “We don’t know where Willow went and what stories he could tell.” Lucky Willow is now being nursed back to health at their home in Hope-under-Dinmore in Herefordshire, where he has been strictly housebound for a month. Meanwhile they do not know the identity of the unfortunate cat they buried. Cat said: “People have asked, ‘So whose cat is in your garden?’. “All we can say is that at least some animal has had a nice burial.”
