CHANGES KEEP CLUBS ONSIDE

-

ENGLAND will make changes against Italy – because Gareth Southgate does not want to risk injuries ahead of the World Cup.

Southgate hinted he could rest Jordan Henderson ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League showdown with Manchester City, but will stick with Kyle Walker and use Eric Dier (above) in midfield. The Three Lions boss is keen to build on England’s win in Holland, but fears he would upset clubs by pushing players too hard.

He said: “The guys are in good condition and we are conscious of what they have got coming ahead. We have got to do what’s right for us, but also we don’t want to pick up injuries.”
