BUBBA UP FOR CUP
BUBBA WATSON has played down claims he is a favourite for next week’s Masters.
But the new WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play champion admitted he is desperate to be a winner at the Ryder Cup in September.
The new world No.21 recorded his second win in five weeks by thrashing Kevin Kisner 7&6 in the Austin final but he said: “I’m not a favourite. I don’t want anybody to talk to me that week, let me focus on what I’ve got to do.” Watson (left), who missed selection for the 2016 Ryder Cup and went to Hazeltine as a vice-captain, said: “I’m trying to get Jim Furyk to notice me.”
