- BY MARK ELLIS Transport Correspondent

MOTORING groups expect 26 million drivers to hit the roads over the Bank Holiday weekend, making a million more car journeys than last Easter. An AA poll suggests 81% of drivers – 26 million – have trips planned, with traffic expected to peak on Saturday, the day 66% of drivers expect to travel. The RAC’s Rod Dennis said: “Our data indicates around a million more confirmed leisure journeys by car than in 2017.” Highways England is removing 300 miles of roadworks and expects 99% of the network to be clear for Easter. But Network Rail warns train services will be disrupted due to engineering work . London Euston, the UK’s fifth busiest station, will be closed on Sunday, and offer reduced services on Saturday and Monday.
