Spy toxin health risk uncertain
THE long-term health risk to the public in Salisbury after the poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal is still unclear.
Concerns were raised by members of the public at a meeting of Wiltshire council yesterday. Officials repeated the message that the risk is low but admitted more work needs to be done to be sure.
Tracy Daszkiewicz, responsible for public health and protection, said: “We will update as we get more information.” The total number taken ill was confirmed as four, not the 38 previously reported.
Skripal, 66 and daughter Yulia, 33, remain in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
