THE EX
Beloved club in need of boost
LEYTON Orient have had a tumultuous five years as they have tumbled from a thirdplace finish in League One in 2013/14 to the fifth flight of English football – the National League.
Bought by Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti in 2014, the side has since been relegated twice and dropped out of the Football League for the first time in their 107-year history. Unpaid taxes led HMRC try to wind up the club, forcing fans to organise collections on the terraces. The “Os” have since been bought by a consortium led by Dunkin’ Donuts chief exec Nigel Travis.
