ROBBO READY TO FACE CITY TEST

-

LIVERPOOL have been offered a huge boost ahead of their season-defining European trial, with news that Andy Robertson has been cleared to play.

The Scotland left-back (with Mo Salah, above) limped off in midweek while playing for his country in the win over Hungary, and there were fears it could rule him out of his club’s massive Champions League clashes with Manchester City.

But the rising star, 24, underwent tests with Reds medics, which showed there was no muscle damage, merely bruising.

Boss Jurgen Klopp could choose to give the defender extra recovery time after his midweek endeavours, by playing Alberto Moreno at Crystal Palace this weekend.

But Robertson will definitely be ready for the quarter-final first-leg with City at Anfield next week.

That is big news for the Reds, who already have fullback Joe Gomez ruled out of the tie.

There are also fears over Emre Can, after he returned early from international duty with Germany with a recurrence of the back injury that saw him limp off against Watford 10 days ago.

He now faces an intensive race to be fit, but Liverpool are confident.
