Sailor missing in yacht race
A BRITISH-born sailor has been lost at sea after he was knocked overboard from a yacht by the boom.
John Fisher, 47, who lived in Adelaide, Australia, had taken off his safety tether during the Volvo Ocean Race on Monday.
The Sun Hung Kai/Scallywag was 1,400 miles west of Cape Horn at the time.
The crew searched for hours before stormy seas forced them to stop.
Team manager Tim Newton said: “We are absolutely devastated.”
