Sainsbury’s has slashed the cost of 930 everyday products in a £150million price blitz shaving an average £4.95 from a typical family shop. Staples including pasta, cheese, ready meals and toiletries have been trimmed – like penne (1kg) down from £1.20 to £1.05, Mature or Medium Cheddar Cheese (400g) is now £2 instead of £2.30, and Be Good to Yourself Reduced Fat Beef Lasagne (390g) costs £2 instead of £2.30. Dove Nourishing Body Wash (500ml) tumbles by £1.50 to £2 and Pantene Classic Clean Shampoo (400ml) is lopped by 50p to £2. And parents looking to save cash on nappies will find the Little Ones Dry Fit range, such as Size 3 Midi 56 nappies, are down from £3.75 to £3.25.
